This month I wanted to share some of the cool projects we have running right here at Ultra VW with you (page 46-), and you can expect even more in coming months. It demonstrates that VWs run through the blood of every team member here at UVW, and we’ve yet to cover photographers rides or many of our other contributors projects, everyone has something cool on the go!

Big thanks to Evil Ben for adding some neat, topical suspension tech, and also thanks to Arild Dyrkorn for tracking down Tor Øyvind Skinne´s awesome 8-second street Bug (page 78). Prepare yourself to be completely blown away by the world’s quickest street legal Beetle! 850+hp in a steel-bodied Bug on a VW floorpan... on paper it’s almost impossible and it just shouldn’t work, but in the metal... well, just check out the video at the end of this column!
And finally, how could I close this issue without mentioning the return of Tar Babe? I know Keith Seume has worked closely with owner, Russel Ritchie to ensure 100% accuracy in the rebuild of one of the most influential (and best looking!) US drag cars ever built.
